Welcome to my website
...............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................

My name is Cathy Rozel Farnworth (PhD). I trained in rural development studies and gender analysis and gained professional experience in many countries around the world. Today, I work on locally defined quality of life indicators, on participatory research methods, and on pro-poor, gender-sensitive value chains and marketing, including in the organic and fair trade sectors. Recent employers include the World Bank, IFAD, GIZ, Sida, UNDP, USAID, Helen Keller International and OxfamNovib.

My Profile contains downloadable publications, my CV and my professional profile. Photographs showing the marvellous people and places of Afghanistan, Bangkok, Bangladesh, China, Costa Rica, Dubai, Germany, Grenada, India, Madagascar, St. Lucia, and Syria that I have taken on my travels can be seen at ‘Around the World’.

It is my pleasure to introduce my family. Please go to the Family Page to see photographs of Juergen, my husband, and Katinka and Rozelle, our daughters. They are starting their own pages for their pictures and writings. The Family Page also contains images of some of our forebears, the Wolstenholmes and Redgraves.

We live in Cornwall. Cornwall being so beautiful, the Cornish page brings together some images of our wild sea and moor landscape. The Warleggan Page depicts Warleggan Church and also the strange story of Reverend Densham who lived in the former Rectory, now The Rookery. Within the grounds of the Rookery, Pandia is a beautiful former coach house which can be rented from the spring through to the autumn from www.country-holidays.co.uk (see booking reference 13192 for details and a virtual tour). The Rookery is a Georgian building, flanked by huge rhododendrons and camellias, one of which Queen Mary came to see on a special visit. Local walks around Warleggan and adjoining parishes, illustrated by maps, photographs and local memories, will be added soon, as will further information about the parish.

My mother’s page, Laura, offers some of her poems and her delicate and colourful flower paintings and drawings. Some show Zambian plants, others are of flowers around Warleggan.

My father’s page, Roger, shows some of his landscape and flower paintings, poems, and stunning photographs from his time in Palestine as an Ecumenical Observer. This page also features his archaeological writings on, and photographs of Ancient Landscapes of Cornwall.
